Description

I’m captivated by the way crystalline planes turn the skull into a jewel, while jubilant yellows keep the scene uplifting rather than morbid.

VIBRANT VANITAS CUBISM — ORIGINAL OIL BY SERG DAVYDOF
This vintage-inspired cubist still life marries bold geometry with traditional Vanitas symbolism. Against a glowing yellow field, a faceted skull, deconstructed glass bottles and a riot of peonies, orchids and apples create a thought-provoking meditation on beauty and mortality.

OIL-ON-CANVAS MASTERY & RICH COLOUR HARMONY
Davydof layers confident brushstrokes and flat geometric blocks, letting saturated yellows, scarlets, emeralds and deep indigos vibrate side-by-side. The composition’s mosaic tabletop and prismatic highlights pay homage to early-20th-century Cubism, yet remain unmistakably contemporary.

STATEMENT PIECE FOR MODERN & ECLECTIC INTERIORS
At 50 × 50 cm, the square format slots perfectly above a console, in a reading nook or alongside gallery walls. Its bold palette enlivens minimalist lofts, boho living rooms, Art Deco offices, even rustic farmhouse kitchens seeking a shock of avant-garde energy.

MEANINGFUL GIFT & COLLECTIBLE INVESTMENT
Skull and fruit recall the timeless message “memento mori,” offering intellectual depth for art scholars, while the jubilant colour makes a memorable house-warming, birthday or new-home gift. Back-signed, issued with a certificate, and offered as a one-of-a-kind original, it is poised to grow in both visual and collectible value.

Add this remarkable fusion of Cubism and Vanitas to your cart today and let its luminous colour and philosophical edge transform your space.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to the most common questions about shipping, customs, packaging, authenticity, returns, and antique artwork care. If you need additional information, feel free to contact us before placing your order.

Is the frame included in the price of the painting?

The price shown in the listing refers exclusively to the artwork itself. If the painting is shown in a frame in the photos, the frame is not part of the sale and is provided to the buyer free of charge as a decorative addition. Since the frame is provided free of charge, it is not covered by any warranty, and its condition upon arrival cannot be a reason for a return, refund, or compensation. If no frame is shown in the photos, it is not included. If you prefer to receive the painting without the frame, please let me know after purchase — no discounts or price adjustments apply.

What should I do if my order arrives damaged?

If your parcel arrives damaged, please follow these steps so a postal claim can be processed properly:
    • take several clear photos of the outer box, the shipping label, the protective packaging inside, and the damaged item
    • report the damage to your local post office or carrier point within 48 hours of delivery and request the official damage report
    • have the form completed and signed by the postal employee and send me a copy within 4 days

Please keep all original packaging until the claim is fully resolved, as carriers may require additional inspection. Failure to follow these instructions or deadlines may void the claim and compensation. I will file a formal claim with the carrier to ensure the issue is resolved as quickly as possible.

How do you verify originality, authenticity, provenance, and condition of artworks?

All paintings in my shop are original, hand-painted artworks. Each piece is examined using professional knowledge of materials, techniques, age characteristics, and historical context. When available, information about the period, school, provenance, or previous ownership is included in the listing and reported accurately. Antique and vintage items may show natural signs of age such as craquelure, patina, minor imperfections, or older restorations, which are always photographed and described. Items are not restored or altered before sale; only gentle surface cleaning may be performed when necessary.

How do you package antique paintings and other fragile items for safe delivery?

All artworks and fragile vintage items are packed with great care to ensure safe delivery. Each piece is wrapped in multiple layers of bubble wrap and protective foam and placed inside a sturdy cardboard box. When possible, I reuse high-quality packaging materials to reduce waste while maintaining the highest level of rotection. Every parcel is packed to withstand long-distance international transport.

Can I request additional photos, reserve an item, receive a multi-item discount, or buy as a designer or collector?

Yes. Additional photos are available upon request so you can examine any item closely before purchasing. Reservations are possible by agreement — for a short period for new buyers and longer for returning customers. Discounts for purchasing several items at once can be discussed within reasonable limits. I also work with interior designers, decorators, and collectors on mutually beneficial terms.
